Gallery Iron Inc., 2008

The exhibition's title was `with heart' and was based on the theme of Valentine’s Day and love in a broader sense. This put all my thoughts in a rather cliché mode. And I decided to hold on to this.

I dug into the clichés and the notions of love and the behaviour patterns of relationships. I ended up making brooches, referring to the label stamps sewn into clothes, describing how we should handle the clothes. A hint that we, true to the cliché, constantly tries to put our cohabitation and love relationships into standard solutions.

The jewellery is meant as a comment on the fairly unnuanced presentation of love and relationships that we are often presented with through advertisements, not least on Valentine’s Day.

The jewels are stickers with simple instructions for our love relationships. If you just follow the instructions, they will keep!???
